Cirrus SR22 questions answered
These answers provide general background and links to primary references. For operating decisions, use the current approved documents for your exact aircraft and qualified instruction. Insurance terms require a quote for your aircraft and operation. Request a quote for your aircraft; terms, availability and premiums depend on the insurer and your details.
What is the range of a Cirrus SR22?

Cirrus currently lists 1,169 nautical miles at 55 percent power for the SR22 in its SR Series comparison. This is a manufacturer maximum under stated conditions, not the range of every SR22 or a trip-planning allowance. Match the generation and configuration to the aircraft's POH and supplements and account for loading, conditions and reserves.
What does a Cirrus SR22 cost?
New-aircraft pricing depends on the model and selected configuration. Use Cirrus's current model information and sales contact for an up-to-date purchase quote. For a used aircraft, assess the particular aircraft, records and equipment. Request a separate insurance quote using the specific aircraft and your intended operation.
How many Cirrus SR22s have been built?
Cirrus announced 10,000 SR Series deliveries on July 22, 2024. That is a combined SR Series milestone, not an SR22-only production count. The source does not establish a current cumulative total for SR22 aircraft, so we do not relabel that family total as one.
How safe are Cirrus SR22s?
An accident count divided by the number built is not enough to establish an aircraft's comparative safety. Review NTSB accident and exposure data with a defined period and population. Cirrus describes CAPS and other systems in its current model information; equipment varies by generation. Pilot training, aircraft condition and use of the applicable procedures remain essential.
