Is there a current premium range?

This page does not publish a verified current premium range. Request a written proposal for your aircraft, pilots, use and requested coverage. An older price, an offer for another owner or a different aircraft, and a percentage of aircraft value are not substitutes for your own quote.

Document the aircraft and the proposed operation

Provide the registration, exact model, year, configuration, engine and equipment details, and proposed insured value. Include relevant restoration work or modifications and ask what supporting records are needed to evaluate the aircraft and its value.

Describe passenger, cargo, personal, business, instruction or other proposed activities accurately. Identify the operating areas and any contractual insurance requirements. Ask BWI to confirm which activities and configurations the proposal permits.

Supply the proposed pilots’ ratings, multi-engine and make-and-model experience, recent flying, training and loss history. Ask about named-pilot approval and any initial or recurrent training conditions. Historical experience thresholds should not be treated as current acceptance rules.

Compare the proposed coverage and annual cost

Use the same aircraft configuration, pilots, activities and coverage period when comparing offers. Review passenger and cargo exposures, physical-damage terms, deductibles and operational conditions with BWI.

Read the total liability limit and any passenger sublimit together. Check the physical-damage coverage basis, insured value and deductibles. Ask BWI to explain defense provisions, exclusions, endorsements and any separate exposures that the aircraft policy does not address. A short coverage example cannot determine payment for a particular loss.

Compare full annual premiums for equivalent policy periods. Identify fees, installment payments and financing charges separately. A lower payment amount does not necessarily mean a lower annual cost or equivalent coverage.
