Corona, CA — January 1, 2026 — Matt White, CEO of BWI Aviation Insurance, today announced the company’s 2026 technology roadmap, including significant planned enhancements to its iFlyQuote platform, expanded automation capabilities, and the early development phase of a future Commercial Aviation Division.
The initiatives reflect BWI’s commitment to modernization, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability as the agency enters its 49th year in business.
“2026 will be a foundational year for innovation at BWI,” said Matt White, CEO. “We are investing heavily in technology, automation, and operational infrastructure to better support aircraft owners, drone operators, and aviation businesses nationwide. These advancements will make BWI faster, smarter, more efficient, and even more customer-focused.”
iFlyQuote to Introduce AI-Driven Enhancements in 2026
As part of BWI’s technology roadmap, the company will introduce advanced AI-supported features within its proprietary iFlyQuote system.
Planned enhancements include:
- automated data extraction from aircraft specifications
- improved risk modeling and coverage recommendations
- workflow automation designed to speed up quoting
- streamlined communication tools between BWI, clients, and underwriters
- enhanced reporting capabilities for internal performance and customer service
“These AI-driven enhancements will significantly improve quoting speed, accuracy, and overall customer experience,” White said. “Our goal is to modernize the aviation insurance process while maintaining the personal service our customers expect.”
Automation and FileMaker Upgrades to Strengthen Internal Operations
In addition to iFlyQuote improvements, BWI will expand its automation capabilities within FileMaker, the agency’s core operating system.
Upcoming upgrades will include:
- automated renewal workflows
- improved task management
- enhanced compliance tracking
- real-time performance dashboards
- integrated communication tools for internal teams
- system-wide efficiency improvements across service and sales operations
“These workflow upgrades allow our teams to focus more on customer service and relationship-building, and less on repetitive administrative tasks,” White added.
Early Development Begins on Future Commercial Aviation Division
As part of its long-term strategic plan, BWI will begin the preliminary development phase of a future Commercial Aviation Insurance Division in 2026.
This department will not launch this year but is entering formal planning and preparation to support future demand for:
- commercial aviation businesses
- charter operations
- flight departments
- aviation service companies
- fleet operators
- emerging sectors within unmanned aviation
“Our commercial aviation presence has grown significantly, and the early planning for a dedicated division is a natural next step,” said White. “We are building the framework deliberately and strategically to ensure long-term success. This initiative will unfold over multiple years and will be one of BWI’s most important expansions.”
Strengthening Underwriter Partnerships and Service Infrastructure
BWI will also expand its renewal systems, customer service processes, and internal training programs to support higher service volume and national growth.
“In aviation insurance, relationships matter, both with customers and with underwriters,” White said. “These investments reinforce our commitment to strong underwriting partnerships and to delivering exceptional service at every step of the customer journey.”
Positioned for Decades of Growth
With leadership promotions announced earlier this year and a nationwide aviation event tour planned across 12 major conferences, BWI is building the operational and technological foundation necessary for its long-term vision.
“As we approach BWI’s 50th anniversary, we are positioning the company for decades of growth,” White said. “From technology to team development to community engagement, 2026 will be the biggest step forward in our history.”
