Boeing Stearman Insurance Cost guide
The guide below explains what to review when requesting and comparing a quote. No unverified current premium range is published here. Request a quote for your aircraft; terms, availability and premiums depend on the insurer and your details.
Reviewed October 28, 2026.
Boeing Stearman insurance cost should be quoted for the specific aircraft, pilots and activities involved. The old premium examples and fixed experience thresholds on this page are no longer presented as current insurance terms.
Is there a current premium range?
This page does not publish a verified current premium range. Request a written proposal for your aircraft, pilots, use and requested coverage. An older price, an offer for another owner or a different aircraft, and a percentage of aircraft value are not substitutes for your own quote.
Describe the aircraft and how it will be flown
Give BWI the aircraft’s registration, exact identity, year, engine, equipment and proposed insured value. Include restoration work or modifications that may affect the information needed to evaluate the airplane and its value.
Explain whether the intended flying includes personal use, instruction, demonstrations, airshows, paid rides or other activities. Ask BWI to check the actual proposed coverage for each activity rather than inferring approval from an aircraft’s history or capabilities.
Provide relevant pilot experience, recent flying, training and loss details. Discuss any transition instruction and named-pilot requirements. The hours once quoted on this page were not an assurance that every insurer would approve a particular pilot or operation.
Compare the proposed coverage and annual cost
Compare proposals for the same aircraft, pilots and activities. Check passenger provisions, permitted uses, physical-damage terms and any special conditions before judging the annual cost.
Read the total liability limit and any passenger sublimit together. Check the physical-damage coverage basis, insured value and deductibles. Ask BWI to explain defense provisions, exclusions, endorsements and any separate exposures that the aircraft policy does not address. A short coverage example cannot determine payment for a particular loss.
Compare full annual premiums for equivalent policy periods. Identify fees, installment payments and financing charges separately. A lower payment amount does not necessarily mean a lower annual cost or equivalent coverage.
Request your own Boeing Stearman quote
Have your aircraft details, proposed value, pilot experience, current coverage and intended use ready. Confirm the proposed start date and any outstanding requirements before relying on the coverage.
Request an insurance quote, call 800-666-4359 or email [email protected]. Requesting a quote does not bind coverage. Coverage is not effective until confirmed in writing.
