The year and model of the Cessna 150 is used as a base to begin determining today’s value of each aircraft. With slight variations and model changes throughout the years, values are fairly consistent throughout the years with the exception of the 1952 Cessna 150B and 1963 Cessna 150C. These models tend to be valued slightly higher due to their significant upgrades.
Engine Time
Cessna 150’s come with Continental Model 0-200-A engines that have a TBO (time before overhaul) of 1,800 hours. Getting the aircrafts (SMOH) Time since major overhaul is a major factor affecting the price. If the SMOH is 1,400-1,500 hours, you may be in for an expensive ($12,000-$25,000) engine overhaul expense after only a few hundred hours of use.
